three years have passed since we lost our beloved Kenny in a swimming accident. Hugs and loves to RJ and her family. We miss you, my little dooey-dooey!

Here we go!

Everyone looks good! Everyone feels good and romance is in the air .

The wedding starts soon...real soon.

So far,

I've got the cake baked, made the jello salad, am making the mac salad, (2 more salads to go) have the dining room all decorated nice and pretty and have the living room cleaned up and the kitchen scrubbed.

Guess why???!!!


ED IS GETTING MARRIED TODAY! I FOUND OUT 3 DAYS AGO!


Still need:
1) bride to arrive
2) something old
3) breakfast!
4) haircut

The dang deer ate the tops of most of my flowers and the new bushes. I am so mad at them! Anyone care for some venison? Grrr!

This weekend

we went camping again. I know, we do every weekend...but this time I have some pictures for you :o) Have you ever seen a picture or postcard of the high country? You know, the very tops of the mountains that are above timberline? Well, we pulled our little camper up a windy rocky road close to such heighth. For 2 nights, we enjoyed the Tobacco Root Mountains where the GPS read a litle over 9000 feet elevation. We camped at lower Brahnam Lake. If you look in the center above the like line you can see our little trailor, and just to the left is the pick-up. And yes, that is snow up on top. Aside from the gazillion horse flies and mosquitos, it was simply lovely!



What i really liked were the flowers. They were in all their glory! Let me introduce you to a few of them:

I know, seems a bit patriotic! Well, there were others flowers too, like these pink ones, I'm not sure the names.
We hiked around the lower lake and the upper lake. It was only about 2 hours worth, not a hard hike, but the air gets a little thin at that elevation! So, when we got back, we all took a nap!

Of course, the vittles were great and we eventually enjoyed an evening of watching caveman's tv.

and when we rolled our eyes up, we could see the Big Dipper....can you find it? It's just to the right of the trees.


And eventually, when all the stars came out, we headed off to night-night land singing...
"Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "I love you..."

Perennial beds are awesome! They come up early in the spring and stay nice all summer...you never have to plant anything. However, first year perennial beds are different. They are planted after frost (June 1st) and are slow in growing. So, my 3 large perennial beds seem to be quite behind, but I don't care! I haven't gardened for a very long time....since 1998, and there are a number of reasons for this. However, here is my start. It feels good to be back into it. It is medicating. I still have more pics for a later post...some flowers I got from my mom and sister's flower bed :o)

Here's some of my little garden. If you're wondering about the dirt color...you're right. Top soil hauled in that's clay! I've added and added peat moss and compost, it's better! It will be better! Here is the acorn squash surrounded by marigolds (keeps bad bugs and bunnies out).

Yes, it's all behind schedule, but it will still make it. Considering we started from scratch (making the raised beds) and I was gone at the beginning of the summer...it is coming along just fine! Oh...I better get out and water, now!

BTW, here is the view out my front door :o) Jealous? You should be!

Cathy came up to visit this weekend. Soon she will be moving up here and they will be married. It's so refreshing seeing this new love. Do you remember when this was you?

My sister, Rubye (AKA VELVET DITTY), and I lived next to each other in a trailor park in a very small town 9about 300 people). I was 22 and she was 26. Between us, we had a crew. These are our 7 kids. RJ's kids are in green, mine are in orange.

The Weekend

was great. We headed up to Cliff Lake (1/4 mile from Wade Lake in my previous post) and did some more camping and boating. I am not sure why Wade and Cliff lake are so green and so clear and so reflective, but it is sure enjoyable hanging out at these spots.


That's my son, Ed on the shore with Scott's nephew, Kirby. No fish, but fun trying to catch craw-dads! I rowed across the lake again...getting my arms in shape and enjoying the surrounding country.

Seems like green is becoming the theme, here. Yeah, I know. I didn't really realize it until I saw this pic. It is the last camping trip with my family as I know it, for the time's are a changin'.

This is our current family. The dynamics are speedily changing...I'm looking forward to it, yet it saddens me, as well. Nostalgic? Perhaps. Empty nest? Not really. I've always considered myself a progressive type gal, maybe I just need time to let it all soak in. All the while, I'll just be green-not with envy.
