FREAKY FRIDAY!
HAVE A GOOD ONE!
(that was this morning)
(that was this morning)
Now it is this evening...
While I was putting up my cute bulletin board in the hall, one student walked up and told me he wouldn't be in school for a few days...his mom had a stroke and her left side is paralyzed. (age 49)
One former student's grampa (whom he lives with) was killed in a plane crash last week.
Another student was gone 1st period, I saw him later in the hall and asked him in a joking manner why he had skipped my class. He told me he was at the doctor getting tested for lymphoma cancer.
Damn. Some days we just have no idea how good our days are...comparatively.

So Long, Farewell...
Our long awaited time together went too fast, but it sure was fun! We concluded our time with magic words.
Swimming, laughing, eating, coffee, convention sessions, chocolate, Freida...the list goes on and on! How could it get any better? I suppose we'll have to wait for next year! For now...thanks for a great time, sista's! Love ya!

Fa-Sol-La Day 2
Here is our walk through all the exhibits at the convention (when we weren't in the sessions). Jill is "posing" by the photographer that has been at convention ever since we can remember. Quite the flash bulb, isn't it?
There he is...hard at work!
Jill is seen here standing by her new friends (at least she hopes they talk to her and give her pointers on how to be a good chaperone!)
Lots of music teachers at this exhibit. Almost all 500 music teachers n the state attend this awesome convention. The whole gym is full of various vending booths.
Sitting through the general session gets quite intense, as you can see by the look on Sadie's and Jill's faces. They were thinking about what matters most...
BURGERS AND FRIES AND MILK SHAKES!
Jill's driving is a little scary. As you can see on the dash board, the "door open" light was on and she was still driving down the main street of Bozeman!
See?! Poor Sadie was too full to twist around and shut her door, but did Jill care? NO. She just ZOOMED down the road like no other! It's all fun and games until we drive by my District Music Supervisor with the doors open and we're laughing hysterically...
We parted into our separate ways in the afternoon. Our sessions were in different parts of the school. Afterwards, we went to Applebys for dinner. Jill waited quite patiently.
Soon we were seated and tried to figure out what to eat.
Travis, Jill's student who plays French Horn and was chosen to participate in All-State band.
We ate then went to the hot tub! No pics this time, but soon we were back and Jill was into the licorice.
Finally, we had a special visitor come visit and sing a very lovely song.!
Tomorrow's sessions will be great, but then we will all go to our respected homes. It's so good being with them!

Fa-Sol-La Princess Party Day 1
Sadie brought us cool things to make us beautiful! How do you like our hair extentions?
Beautiful Princesses, I would say!
Jill is enjoying herself. She can do 1/2 somersault, 1/2 twist under water!
And here are a few more action shots!
We finished with some jammies and pizza in our room! Having a blast and looking forward to our convention, tomorrow! See ya, tomorrow!

Where Have All The Flowers Gone?
IT's 21 degrees F and it feels like winter has set in! Although we are supposed to be in the 50s this week, our Sunday is blustery and a good day for homemade soup! This cold weather sure doesn't slow down Gus, tho!
Have a good Sunday! 3 days of school then Montana Music Conference for me! I'll be staying with my Fa-Sol-La sisters...I wonder what this year will bring!

Pics from the Sidney Air Show
A couple of weekends ago, we drove 4 hours to Sidney, Montana (a town of about 5,000 people) to see the air show. (Over 10,000 people came!)
This woman was standing in front of us, I couldn't help but take a picture of her shirt!
And this little guy reminded me of my great nephew, Kash!
Okay! On with the show! There were many planes on display...

When they flew, they would release smoke so you can see the shape of their maneuvers! This one is straight up, they would make the engine stall, then straight down! Amazing to watch!

Can you see the heart?

Here is a Canadian F18 that flew (AMAZING) and a famous STUNT plane...the woman is standing on top...

Still standing as they flew around...doing loop-de-doos and what have you!

This cool little t-craft flew up as far as the eye could see then killed the engine. He slowly cork-screwed his way down, releasing smoke of various colors...
One of the planes released sky divers...

This was an AMAZING Stearman (1943) flew like no other...

Many did this trick...
And here you see the SNOWBIRD from Canada...which are equivalent to our Navy Blue Angels.

Pilots and staff...

An amazing show...and ad the end, the pilots signed their flying records...
These pics are pale in comparison to the hours experience of watching and seeing these air crafts, feeling the energy of the crowd and loving the experience...but it's a pretty good taste. If you ever have an opportunity to go to an air show, it's worth it! Cool people and cool events! Here are a couple other links to pics and Scott's journal of it!
