Adventures at home!
Just look around you! There are all sorts of exciting events!
The tulips...
are really growing!
George found a bug in the lamp shade!
TT looks grouchy! Oh yeah, that isn't different. She is very beautiful, tho! She's my puff toy!
Who needs a tv? We can just sit and watch George Dog and Gus Bob play and play!
Ahhh, but life and adventures aren't all fun and games. Gus Bob had to remind me that I did have some chores.
Okay, it's nice enough to go outside and do some chores...picking up paw paws I mean dog poopy!
Wearing my new crowning hat! lol
I also transplanted an old iris bed, preparing the spot for the herb garden I'm putting in, in mom's memory. And did some other yard work. Then we went to the RV show... I decided not to have surgery yet. I think we are going to trade in our cute little camper trailer and get a camper for the pickup, we'll need it for Moab and to have when we are pulling the raft!

Lots of things
are good about today:
1) District Music Festival today with my kids and they did VERY well. What a good time!
2) Many, many more bulbs have come up that I had planted last fall! Spring is coming!
3) Most importantly, today I celebrate my 16th birthday!
Husband gave me a darling balloon and birthday card and taking me out for a steak dinner.
I know, I know...you are wondering what the heck I'm talking about and asking yourself how this could be...I have kids that are 25. Well, folks, I'm 16 years CLEAN AND SOBER today...
one day at a time...
And thanks to my loving family and their support.

Hear acoustic blues artist Spencer Bohren in a benefit concert for Yellowstone Public Radio. Thanks to Pug Mahon's Irish Pub, Shauna and Mark T. Kennedy, and Briggs Distributing, all proceeds from the concert benefit the operations and programming of Yellowstone Public Radio. Seating at The Depot is limited to 300, so call 406.697.6975 or visit Hansen Music in Billings for tickets. Doors open at 6:30pm, opening act at 7pm, and Spencer hits the stage at 8:30pm. Food and beverages served by The Rex.
It was one of those concerts that once the music starts, you are taken away and mesmerized the whole time. He played the acoustic guitar, a couple blues steel guitars and the banjo. He sang old blues, old gospel in blues style and ones he wrote. My favorite of all was his rendition of "Ode to Billy Jo". (You can watch Bobbi Gentry's version of it, here)
Spencer is originally from Casper, but has been living in New Orleans for many many years. And yes, he is still trying to rebuild his town.

Spring inside!
We bought these tulips last Saturday. The roots of the bulbs are in water.
You just have to water them and they grow.
This morning (4 days later) they are peaking up over the large vase!
And it makes momma smile :o)

2moon/commercial break/ Stillwater Drive
Last Sunday, we went for a walk here,
I posted Scott's pictures, and here are mine.
The park is called Two Moon and I'm not sure why. Below is an informational map and you can see the trails etc. It follows the Yellowstone River.
Scott and Gus are leading the way...actually...Gus leads the way...sometimes not our way!
In the distant center, you see the "rims" with what looks like snow on them. Actually it is called "The Weeping Wall" because there is water that seeps through them, but freezes in the winter.
Pretty cool to see up close. It was almost melting on this day and once in a while you would hear one of the large icicles fall off and land on the ground below like a spear.
That is all from 2 moon, as my batteries ran out.
And now a word from our local sponsor....

And now a word from our wonderful pets.
It's almost our anniversary with finding George (George Washington's birthday). He likes to sit on the arm of the chair and TT likes to lay on my down-filled coat.
Gus Bob loves all sorts of attention because.......
he has really, really cute toe tufts!!!
And now back to our life as explorers. Today we decided to drive up to the Stillwater River (feeds into the Yellowstone). It was such a beautiful day...Clear sky, you could see the high country.
We found a wonderful place to put our raft in the water come spring time. The access is in a great spot and the ramp is perfect.
And Scott found a place to put his feet in the water, trying to cool them down from the temp. I like CURVY to be hot when we travel!
More mountain pics getting close to the trailhead where Scott got out and took THESE pics and THIS slide show. (go see them, they are great! and don't I have a nice crack in my windshield?)
A few weeks ago, the wind blew up in this canyon over 100 mph. Along the fence, you can see how the loose grass and weeds gathered and stuck to the fence posts. Posts tufts, I guess you would call them.
And this little town, NYE, population of about 10 that is way in the middle of no where has a REAL LIVE TELEPHONE BOOTH! How long has it been since you've seen one of these?
We sat here, along the waters edge, and ate our sandwiches, carrot sticks and bagel crisp thingies. Not a bad view.
On the way home, we saw the other kind of deer we have in this area...Mule Deer, obviously because of their large ears.
Last little stop to take a pic of the river, and we got to go under this really cool, old bridge first.
And finally, here's a pic of the Yellowstone, we are patiently waiting for the ice to melt so we can raft again...hey, wait...yeah...completely unintentional...a picture of me taking a picture!

A Fine Valentines Day!
I came out of my school meeting to find a very sweet note written on my bulletin board at school and some lovely purple and white flowers...Thank you Michelle and Terry!
Half way through the school day 4 high schoolers came in to sing an awesome Valentine to me (sibling of one of the singers set that up!) It was sort of embarrassing, and I laughed so much...it was fun.
Then I found a bouquet of flowers on my desk in the cutest white square vase with red hearts engraved in it. A precious note was stuck in it from my husband, thank you honey!
Then we went to the Moss Mansion for fancy desert, music, tour...we got our photo taken together, truly enjoyed the evening. We opted not to do the carriage ride because it was so dang cold. Here is the mansion and description thereof from the Montana Historic Society website:
The Moss Mansion Historic House Museum captures early turn-of-the-century life of the Preston Boyd Moss family. The mansion is a 1903 red sandstone structure. Visitors will see original draperies, fixtures, furniture, Persian carpets and artifacts during their guided one-hour tour. Seasonal exhibits are featured. This home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by the famous American architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh who also designed the original Waldorf-Astoria.
We spoke to the director. Sounds like I can bring students here to carol next December during their winter tour and also Scott has been invited to read his short stories when they have a wine and cheese reading!
It is absolutely gorgeous! We weren't allowed to take pictures, so I found these on the Mt. Gov. website. They hardly capture the elegance!
And here is the Smith River we put in permits go float this summer, hope we get it!
