We needed to get away!
My husband has been working so hard, he gets so tired and so does his hard working dog! So I decided it was time to go see some of our friends!
We took off early Friday afternoon. It was cold, but sure good to see those "Crazy Mountains". Yes, that is what they are called!
You can see how they reach the clouds on those cold and snowy days!
We hit some wind and some ice...but that wasn't going to stop us!
Because I was just dying to see Momma Jones and DIP! These peeps are 2 of my fine-feathered friends! They were sure surprised to see me and we had dang good visits!
Momma Jones is especially proud of the way she wraps presents for her son's birthday. I think we should give her a big round of applause for her creativity! You're awesome MJ! Love ya! Oh, and Dip...luv you too!
Next, we went to the Ennis basketball game. I got there and couldn't find my camera ANYWHERE. So Scott went back to MJ's place to look for it while I entered the school...and surprised my former students. I heard a scream "MS. CREEK IS HERE!!!" and the next thing I knew, I was completely surrounded by kids from 6th to 12 grade hugging and hugging and we were all crying...and of course I didn't have my camera...so I can't show you...however, just imagine in your mind those small-town loves!
Next, we headed to BIG SKY to see my BFF Ellen! Here we are walking to the Big Sky Resort (Huntley Lodge) for a wonderful brunch before Derek took off snow boarding.
Here's the view outside our window as we ate and ate our yummy brunch buffet!
And the lovely sitting area of the lodge...
Ahhh and Lone Peak, the highest peak of the Madison Valley Range. Believe it or not, there is a little building on the very top and this summer, I'm going to ride the tram and go up there!
Next, we drove up the highway to Moonlight Basin...the most expensive place where the fancy pants go!

Here is one of the for sides of this gorgeous fireplace...it's probably a million dollar piece of work.
And the river...the Gallatin River (of of the 3 that makes up the Missouri River), is so cold now, but this river will be the same one we float down this summer for Derek and Ellen's wedding!
Looking outside their door, there was an awesome avalanche off the roof, waiting to happen!
Love you, Ellen! Thanks for a very restful, wonderful weekend! We drove, we visited, we laughed, we watched a video of the song she found for her wedding, she cooked a yummy breakfast for us, and words can't hardly express the love we share!
Leaving, Sunday, we drove up to Paradise Valley for one more weekend pleasure...
and what a pleasure Chico Hot Springs is!

Back from a most
excellent weekend. Will write and post more when I'm not so sleepy...

Today, my son turned 25!
I was 19 and 1 month, single, Ed was 3 days old...born 7lbs. 6 oz, 21 1/2 inches long...
We were alone for 2 3/4 years (before his twin sisters were born.) This is a little tiny trailor we lived in, in Hulett. Very old. He was (is) so dang cute!
Blue eyes, blonde hair, dark eye brows...was sweet...
Here he is when we went to visit Grampa Rubye and Gramma Harold at their house in Sheridan.
Here he is, getting a little older with his cousin, beloved Kenny.
Growing up, we've always had a closeness...I love growing flowers and even as a young boy, he would patiently walk around the yard and look at everything as I pointed it out to him...he was bored, but knew it was important to me, so he did it!
Still handsome...he never grew out of his looks!
High School...he swam on the school team. This was a difficult time in his life as he was trying to find himself...and inhibited and abused by his father...
Here are the flowers he gave me for my birthday...shortly after this pic, he went through some horrible times...but we stuck through together...
Young man...with the influence of Scott as his step-father, things really turned around for him.
And once in a while, Chuck faces his fears and gets close enough to him to say hi....even if Ed is sleeping!
Ed is in Bali right now with his wife, Cathy. They are going to renew their vows on the 8th...mom's birthday. He's having a great time and says he is very very happy...and what more could a mother hope for?

On the Road Again.....
We are headed out noonish tomorrow to go see have a little vacation! First we are going to drive straight to Norris Hot Springs (Water of the gods) for a long-overdue soak!

Memory Lane...Gramma and Pa, and red shirts...
Here are some pics of special people that are no longer with us. Paternal Gramma Rubye and Grampa Harold. This first pic is in Pinedale...they were all bundled up because we were going to the Elk Feed Ground. The second is them with my dad and their cute little Winnibego in the back ground they used to tootle down to Arizona in the winter.
Here's my dad in his red Game Warden shirt, we were all so proud of that fact. The second pic also includes Lolly as a baby and her dad.
Dad passed in 1981, gramma in 1989 and grampa in 1990. We have oodles of special memories of them!

AHHHHHHH.......
After grading 120 finals...(40 more to do, still at school)
Posting 350 scores on the internet grading system...(65 more to post)
I put on a real shoe! (had to be quite loose)
I took a little break. I got to DRIVE (1st time since surgery) to see Megs.
We finally got some snow!
Here's our weather today...3rd time we've had accumulation all winter.
And look who loves me!

Another GREAT from EAM.
A woman and a man are involved in a car accident on a snowy, cold Monday morning ; it's a bad one.
Both of their cars are totally demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt.. God works in mysterious ways.
After they crawl out of their cars, the man is yelling about women drivers; the woman says, "So you're a man.
That's interesting. I'm a woman. Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but we're unhurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of our days".
Flattered, the man replies, "Oh yes, I agree with you completely, this must be a sign from God! But you're
still at fault...women shouldn't be allowed to drive."
The woman continues, "And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune."
Then she hands the bottle to the man. The man nods his head in agreement, opens it and drinks half the bottle
and then hands it back to the woman. The woman takes the bottle, immediately puts the cork back on, and hands it back to the man. The man
asks, "Aren't you having any?"
The woman replies, "No. I think I'll just wait for the police...."
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Women are clever, clever b**ches.
Don't mess with'em.
Oh yeah..........

Bon Voyage, Ed and Cath!
Tomorrow they fly to Bali, and will be gone for 6 weeks! We'll miss them, but what an awesome trip!
These 2 are naughty kissy face most of the time, lol.
Cathy loves playing with naughty tt. She gets her all grouchy!
Ed and Cathy will exchange vows and be married in Bali with Bali traditions. Her grandmother picked the day for their wedding. It is the sweetest day of all.....February 8th !
