Taco Tuesday

Today at school, the students get out at noon for a teacher inservice. However, I'm out of here! lol Well, me and all the elective teachers from my school, that is. We are traveling to a school 180 miles from here to observe how they run their elective program. There's always room for molding and I'm always up for suggestions.

On a different note...I just want to add this thought. Sometimes, life gives us a roller coaster to ride. You can tell yourself that those ahead of you rode it and made it, so can you...you can tell yourself to just throw your arms up and scream. Perhaps you can close your eyes and hold your head in your hands, enduring without watching. No matter how you handle the ride of the roller coaster, I believe there is only one sure way that truly gets you through your rough times...that is the love your family and friends give you. I just want to say thank you to my daughter Michelle and my sister VEL for the time you take in supporting me and talking to me and just giving me your love. I hear it. I feel it. I love you.

TT

Fridays are good days at my school for a number of reasons:

1) We get to "dress down" so I'll be wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans and burks and my hair up in a dump-dolly doo. The "dress down" look just feels relaxed.

2) In the choir room, we have "fun-packet Fridays!" in which we sing from a book of lyrics I put together...songs the kids like to sing like...YMCA, We Didn't Start The Fire, Let It Be, Don't Stop Believin', Jeremiah Was a Bull Frog" etc. We don't work on harmonies or how we pronounce our words or if our "s's" end together...we just sing for fun.

3) All day I know within hours, I have the weekend off!

4) Someone always brings a yummy treat and puts it in the lounge for us at lunch time!

5) This Friday is mid-term, meaning 1/2 way through the first quarter already!

6) I can stay up late and I don't have to get up early if I don't want to!

Every Friday is GOOD FRIDAY, if you ask me, and it doesn't even have to be Easter!

Oh, and by the way...TT is still beautiful...grouchy but beautiful...that's my naughty TT!

Your horoscope for September 24, 2008 Without a doubt, your day today will have important consequences on the future of your love life. Weekend Wilderness, Waterfalls and such...

We headed to the Woodbine camp spot to take on some hiking and enjoying the sites. Here's the mountains...already receiving snow!

The trail head started with this sign...where we are and what the dang bear look like!
Dressed in layers, smartwool socks and good shoes, (and dump dolly doo), we headed up the trail to see the Woodbine waterfalls!

Our nation has about 3% of its land deemed as wilderness...no motor vehicles, just walking, keeping it in its pristine beauty.

Autumn is in the air. The breeze was cool and the ground leaves are starting to turn...a beautiful forest floor.
This is just a small stream, probably called Woodbine Creek, that dumps into the Stillwater River that eventually dumps into the Yellowstone (I've blogged such pics). This is the stream that made a beautiful waterfall we went to see!

Okay, so, we tried following the sign...but it took us a while to figure out where the dang trail went!

Our precious doggy led the way!
Some of the trail wasn't very desireable!

This small waterfall seeped from the ground, it was so pretty and water looked soo sweet!
Then we came up to the bigger waterfall. It was very loud and gorgeous.

The mist from the waterfall helps this lovely moss grow on the northern canyon wall.
(Me and it...)

I saw this cute little aster along the trail...the last of the wildflowers...

And the roses are now rose hips...

Here's the scene coming down the trail...

And in the center of this pic...the rocky part...is the waterfall. This is what you see from the road. It was a great hike!

We found a great place to camp. I just love how the grasses and bushes are starting to turn colors...

Then the STORM came in! It poured rain and the wind blew so hard...just shook our camper LOUDLY! We ended up staying in the camper until the next afternoon! It finally lifted and there was only one more thing I took a picture of that really caught my eye!!!

FFS.

Blogging Blues

Hi Folks,

My blogging has been a bit sparse since school started. I've spent lots of my time and energy focused on my friend and her family with losing her brother to cancer on 9/11...

Now I'm just going through some personal hills and valleys as we all do...but not as bad as some of you have gone through, but nonetheless... Funny how such stressors deplete one's creativity...it has mine, anyway. So, I'll be visiting blogs but may not be posting anything new for a tiny bit. I am planning on floating and camping this weekend...maybe i'll get some pics of that for ya.

For now...take care and I'll see ya on the flip side!

September 14th...Special in Many Ways~

Today was a special day for my daughters Megan and Michelle...they turned 23!

We had a few little gifts for them...

Decorated the house a bit...(we've used that "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" banner since 1991!)
Megs made her "cake"...chocolate brownies with sprinkles, while Michelle filled the little goblets with sparkling cider and mariceno cherries with an umbrella toothpick!

We put the confetti on the table...the pink carnations are from Scott...for me to "think pink" because it also marks the anniversary of losing mom.

Because of those feelings, we dove into making this party special...and it was!

Here are the 3 pans of Spaghetti Pie Michelle made and it was delicious!
Meg's brownies turned out yum yum!

Michelle took a break and had a delicious M&M ice cream bar!

Michelle's "cake" was a pistachio pudding pie!

Cathy and Ed came up and kept the kitties company. TT loves playing with hair ties.
George loves Ed!

Dick and Carol came and we feasted!

Cathy and I picked out some special sparkler candles...
George wanted some desert!

Megs was touched by her card! (my camera for Michelle was on the opposite end of the table...I will get a pic of her soon!)

They enjoyed their naughty tt masks!
After it was all over, we took the balloons that Michelle brought over. We wrote messages to mom (gramma LIL) and released them...

It was, indeed, a very special day.

Volunteers...or Just Strangers Among Us?

Here are some uninvited guests that decided to come and visit...

This lovely little sunflower grew from the birdfeeder...the birds decided to plant.
My favorite flower, but I did not plant...Morning Glories with their heart-shaped leaves (sorry this pic is over exposed).

More from the messy birds...CORN!

And finally...this pretty little kitty! She sat there for a while until gus looked out the window at her and she ran off...thankfully not across the street but to the neighbor's yard.
I like all the unexpected company!
