Recap: Rubye flew up here LATE Friday night, Saturday we headed up to Woodbine and went camping. Sunday we floated the Stillwater (first time for her). Monday we shopped until we dropped, then we made a big family dinner and she enjoyed her nieces and Terry and Billy. After everyone left, we decided to see our little city from the Rims. (I wanted her to step back just a little bit, just a little bit, but she wouldn't...I wonder why.) Tuesday, we vowed to stay home so she could pull weeds, but we ended up shopping and bawling our eyes out during My Sister's Keeper with Ed and Cathy. (It was their 3rd year anniversary!)

Wednesday, we loaded up the Cr-V and headed to Wyoming. We stopped in Sheridan and visited with Ed and Cathy for quite a while. Then we headed to Buffalo. RJ hadn't seen momma's headstone yet. (She's still just as sweet and beautiful as ever, isn't she?) We also stopped to visit dad and our beloved sister, Beckie. After the visit, we headed down south to see Sister Jolene and mom's sweet sister Aunt Goldie! We had a fantastic dinner and then cousin Darrell came to visit! We hadn't seen him for about 9 years! ( He is my Uncle Bill's son.)

And the 4 of us! (Good think I have long arms!) We had such good visits. It was so good to see Darrell that evening!

That night, Chuck got to open some (undisclosed) presents! We stayed up and yacked and laughed until 12:30 or so...which is QUITE late for us oldies! We slept in the next morning and had quite a day!
Next up: Museum, Concert at the Park and visiting our nephew and niece and their kids!
Rubye's vacation, days 3 and 4 consisted of non-stop action. Monday, we went to 6 different stores we shopped until we dropped! When we got home, we made ham, my grotesque scalloped potatoes, jello etc...big family dinner for her. Michelle and Terry and Megan and Billy and even the neighbor, Jerry, came and enjoyed the feast!
Tuesday, we decided we weren't going to go anywhere...just stay home! She pulled weeds and peeled 7 pounds of potatoes to make momma's potato soup recipe. It was yum yum yummy! Ed and Cathy came, we ended up shopping a little at Costco. That evening, we went to see "My Sister's Keeper". Yes, we bawled most of the way through it. Next up: Headed to Wyoming!
I had a wonderful 9 days with my sister, Rubye Jean, who flew up from Arizona. She left the 115 degree heat and enjoyed the beautiful Montana weather. Rubye Jean stayed about 9 days and each day was packed with activities. --arrived very late Friday night. --Early Saturday morning, we headed up to Woodbine Campground, the trailhead for the Stillwater River. --Sunday we floated the lower part of the river.
When we weren't hiking, I found many other activities for her like killing flies in the camper. We had good food, great walks through the scary forest (chanting "Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!") coming and going to the outhouse...and sat by the cute little creek, reading and visiting and slapping mosquitos.
On Sunday, we floated the Stillwater. Here's how Rubye Jean fixed her hair! I think the Hollywood glasses really add to the look, don't you?
It's been a long time since I camped with RJ and we sure had fun! After we got home, I gave her a couple of days to cook, clean and pull weeds before we headed to Casper to see Aunt Goldie, Monte, Melissa and fam and cousin DJ.Here's what she did in her spare time... Smoking, drinking coffee, talking on the phone and lord knows what else she did while I wasn't looking! (...more to come!)
My sissy leaves tomorrow and I'm sad. We've had a wonderful week and 2 days together. I'll post pics and write etc. Tonight, I'm just vegging, trying to not let it get to me...
If anyone is passing out the BORING BLOG award this week, I suppose I deserve it. After our giant weekend last weekend (and no pics) this week has been full of scraping the house...and you can only take so many pictures of scraping the house! Today is another adventurous scraping-the=house=day and I've been awake since 3 with very sore hands and arm muscles. It will be worth it. I am still deciding on what color to paint it...any suggestions?

Happy Birthday, our beloved Luke (we had to put him down a couple years ago)...his birthday was the 4th of July and I always made him a cake! The whole nation celebrated his birthday :o)
I personalized a sun visor for her. Of course I had to send her a little flag! The package on the left is a necklace of stars that lights up and blinks :o) Love you, patriotic girl! I'll post pics of her in it when I get it!
