One of our camping spots...

Just over that rock we are on is a couple thousand feet of cliff down to the bottom of the canyon. It was so amazingly gorgeous! Look how rugged the red clifs are on the other side towered by the La Sal mountains. It was cold, but can the view get much better?

I have 90 pics until my card was full, Scott has over 300 pics, I just don't even know where to start to tell you about our FANTABULOUS spring break!

On the first part of the journey,

we ran out of gas 3 miles from the gas station! With a new camper on back and a strong headwind, and 100 miles between gas stations (practically), Scott underestimated the gas usage, lol. So we sat and waited and look who saved the day!

My niece, Melissa! Yeah! Thanks so much, sweety! We appreciate your fine contribution to our trip! (Isn't she so cute. Scott said, "I sure do like her."

So, 8 miles later, we stopped at Aunt Goldie's house. She is mom's older sister and was her best friend all growing up and into adulthood. She was a wonderful host, we stayed that night with her.

Then we drove through the Wyoming weather and roads...
and then through the Colorado weather and roads, elevation over 6000ft. most of the way.
Here is the truck at our gas stop...a bit messy, eh? Worth it tho...

Saturday Sweetness!

Ed and Cathy got back from Indonesia after being gone for 6 weeks! I'll post some of those picks on a different day. I just wanted to show you what they brought me. In addition to my 2 kimonos and silk shirt, I received these beautiful salt and pepper shakers! They were VERY hard to find, because Singapore, Bali and Japan don't use S&P at every meal, as we do. In the back right are the pewter ones from Singapore. The front right are from Bali and they are made from coconut shells. The front left are porcelain geishas from Japan. Aren't they darling? I also received a CD of Balinese traditional music, which I studied while in college.

Remember the tulip bulbs we purchases from Costco? Our choices were red or white. We opted for the red.

And they really grew fast! In two weeks they grew 18 inches!

And momma looks on and smiles. And here is the best part of all! One opened this morning!
