Sometimes

I think about mortality. Sometimes those thoughts are centered around how I would manage without that special person in my life. And sometimes I wonder how their lives would change if I was no longer alive. In any case, this is the song I choose for my funeral. I want every single person I know and care for to listen to these words as they are from my heart.

Sometimes it's good for us to ponder mortality. Yeah, sometimes.

A tour around the flowerbeds...

Part 1: Shade Garden

Here's my bleeding heart, the blossoms are almost open. It's one of my favorite flowers!
In the back is Jacob's Ladder, to the right is a Columbine and the flowering thistle (no, not the noxious weed) is doing very well! See the little pink blossoms?
Part 2: FRONT
Counterclockwise starting with my CHEESE ROCK that Rubye Jean gave me years ago. Then there is Black-eyed Susan, some other plant I have no idea, momma's Pinks, hen and chicks, some sort of exotic grass and my pan of pansies. In the middle is the Soaring Spirit rose bush with an Arizona Rock in the middle.

These are blue and pink Bachelor Buttons. I can't wait for them to bloom!
And the corner...take a look directly under the basket of flowers...

Here's a little volunteer pansy that came up by itself...so cute.
On to the sidewalk flowerbed. The juniper tree is really growing! beneath it is THYME, then Lavender.
Momma's irises. I'll put petunias in the basket, soon!
Here's the length of the path, you can see peonies starting, white phlox, brilliant yellow something or others, along with poppies I got from Jerry's bed and transplanted Hen and Chicks. And don't you just love the PIG FACE weed, (I mean mallow) just outside the rocks?
Part 4: Backyard

Grape hyacinths and baby daffodils are doing swell! You can see where the rabbits are eating my irises! GRRR
One clematis made it from last year and is doing fine! I planted morning glories and another clematis on the right side of the shed.
Ahhh, the herb garden...
Sage, chives, oregano, newly planted radishes, onions, volunteer lettuce, grape hyacinths and lavender irises.
Mom and dad watching over it.
Part 5: Tulips
I think these are very old tulips because of their shape and color when they bloom...I'll post their pics when that happens! They are on the west side of the house.





These came up under my mulch pile.
And finally, when the weather allows, I'll plant moss roses in the trash bq'er planters.
I love the variety of tree colors looking past our back fence.
Springtime in the Rockies is a whole different world than many other places...we still are getting frost, spitting snow, etc and we are the banana belt! Whatever the weather, I'm sure enjoying my flowers and look forward to a splendid summer of colors!
